2016 Obama’s America (Movie Review)

Folks in the theater sang “God Bless America” after this movie ended because it exposes President Obama’s ugly anti-American theology and the roots thereof.

This documentary is based on Dinesh D’Souza books “Obama’s America: Unmaking the American Dream” and “The Roots of Obama’s Rage“.

“Across the globe and in America, people in 2008 hungered for a leader who would unite and lift us from economic turmoil and war.  True to America’s Ideals, they invested their hope in a new kind of President, Barack Obama.  What they didn’t know is that Obama is a man with a past, and in powerful ways that past defines him- who he is, how he thinks, and where he intends to take America and the world.” (from the film’s press kit- emphasis added)

What is Obama’s Dream; how does one understand his actions throughout his first term?  2016 explores the influence Obama’s absentee father had in shaping the future President’s political ideology; an ideology that, until now, has been remarkable hidden from the American people.  It is an ideology shaped by, at the very least, a distrust of historic western colonialism.  Indeed, Obama’s mother sent him to Hawaii to shield the young Obama from the “corrupting” influence of mainland American culture.  His leftist grandfather sought a mentor for the young Obama and found one in Frank Marshall Davis, a communist whose writings were highly critical of the United States.  The mainstream media has studiously avoided the influence of Davis on Obama’s theological development.  2016 also lays out the roots of Obama’s wealth redistribution theology.

When he eventually runs for President, Obama knows that he must hide elements of his past; not only Davis, but Bill Ayers, Edward Said, Roberto Ungar and Jeremiah Wright.  Obama tells Wright that “the problem is you have to tell the truth.”  2016 posits that despite Obama’s attempt to politically distance himself from Wright,  the two men are theologically interwined.

We also see that Obama’s peaceful entreaties to the Muslim world are because Obama shares the Muslim’s hatred of western imperialism.  In short, Obama has more in common theologically with the Muslims then he does with traditional Americans.

Finally, 2016 explores the danger facing America if Obama wins a second term.

In short, this is a cogent, intelligent must-see documentary based on Obama’s own words, writings, people who knew him or his family, and his documented theological influences.  EVERYTHING Obama has done to our great country that hasn’t made sense, will make perfect sense, at least from Obama’s theological perspective, after you see this film.

Now, check your local movie schedule and see it ASAP.   Let’s pump up the box office on this film!  When you’ve seen the movie, please stop back and let me know what you think about the movie and/or my review, eh?

  1. Excellent movie. Now I understand the connections. He is trying to undo and redo the balances of wealth and power of colonialism. Wow, what a nut job.
