New Black Panther Party- American Jihadists?
***UPDATE 8/19/2014***- New Black Panthers Arrive in Ferguson, MO The New American 8/15/2014
The New Black Panther Party (hereinafter “NBPP”) has drawn much media attention by using the Trayvon Martin tragedy to publicize their pathetic “organization”. They are the group that offered a $10,000 reward for the arrest of the shooter. (press release archived here on OUR site) Thus, who are these lowlife opportunists that would use the tragic death of a young black man to promote themselves? What are their origins? What is their true agenda?
Beyond the similiar name, NBPP has absolutely no connection to the “original” Black Panther Party founded in the 1960s by the likes of Huey Newton, Et al. (If you are not familiar with the “original” group, Google it.) The “Dr. Huey P. Newton Foundation” denounces the “new” group in no uncertain terms saying that they “denigrate the [original] Party’s name…” and that they have “fail[ed]to find its own legitimacy in the black community.” Moreover, the Newton Foundation implies that NBPP
are “reactionary provocateurs”, “entertainers who would posture themselves before the media,” and, “a group of anti-Semites like the very Ku Klux Klan they allegedly oppose.” To be clear, “the Foundation denounces the usurpation of the [original] Black Panther Party name by this questionable band of self-appointed leaders.” (full Newton Foundation statement here) Ok, no love lost between the [real/original] Black Panther Party and these Trayvon Martin groupies.
Here is the part that should concern all Americans. The New Black Panther Party was led by Khalid Muhammad in the late 1990s. Muhammad was one of Louis Farrakhan’s top lieutenants in the Nation of Islam and was known for his vicious tirades on Jews, homosexuals and caucasians. He was actually ejected from the Nation of Islam by Farrakhan after a 1993 speech wherein he implored the murder of white South Africans. The leader of the New Black Panther Party was too extreme for Louis Farrakhan? Yikes! This gives us a clear indication of the true extremist NBPP mind-set and their likely Islamic-American Jihadist agenda. (Muhammad 2001 ABC News obituary )
You may also recall the New Black Panther Party controversy from Election Day 2008. Two members of the group were caught on video in front of a polling place in Philadelphia wearing their trademark military gear, one holding a nightsick. They were accused of voter intimidation but the Obama Administration chose not to pursue the matter. (Washington Post Article here)
Ironically, the representative who announced the “reward” in the Trayvon Martin shooting, Hashim Nzinga, was just arrested for being a felon in possession of a firearm. (article here)
Thus, the new Black Panther Party are not Boy Scouts- fair enough??
