Oby wants Mitt details BUT “Have to pass bill so you can find out what is in it”
“But we have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it…” –Nancy Pelosi on Obamacare
During last night’s debate the President commented (attempted jabs?) numerous times on Governor Romney’s purported failure to offer “specifics” for the Romney/Ryan policy proposals. Every time the President repeated the “issue”, I recalled the height of libidiocy™ in March 2012 when Nancy Pelosi famously said “But we have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it…” Using this Democratic “logic” Romney need not reveal anything until such time as his proposals are actually passed into law.
As to the brutal “pass it or else” manner in which Obamacare was foisted onto Americans, Romney added:
“[M]y experience as a governor is if I come in and lay down a piece of legislation and say, it’s my way or the highway, I don’t get a lot done. What I do is the same way that Tip O’Neill and Ronald Reagan worked together some years ago. When Ronald Reagan ran for office, he laid out the principles that he was going to foster.”
Thusly, like Reagan, Governor Romney has laid out a core set of principles by which he plans to get America back on track. As he explained, the legislative details will be worked out in a bi-partisan manner when he is President.
After last night’s debate, does anyone of sound mind really remain undecided?
