SHOCKER- NSA Leak Reporter Glenn Greenwald Jihad Friendly!
Who is Glenn Greenwald, the reporter who broke the story of the NSA “Prism” program? I blogged about the leak itself here.
Greenwald is a former constitutional and civil rights litigator and current contributing writer at Salon.com. He is the author of three New York Times bestselling books: How Would a Patriot Act? – A Tragic Legacy and With Liberty and Justice for Some.
Greenwald is also the recipient of the… 2010 Online Journalism Association Award for his investigative work on the arrest and oppressive detention of Bradley Manning, and a finalist for the 2010 National Magazine Award for “excellence in online reporting and commentary.” “Glenn Greenwald joins Guardian US from Salon” Guardian 7/19/12
Greenwald sounds like he may be left of center?
Have no fear; we need not rely only on his bio to ascertain the motivation in revealing the NSA Prism program. Greenwald leaves quite a lengthy trail of articles showing he is an Islamic Jihad apologist/appeaser/supporter. Thus we see his reason for enabling an American traitor to expose an American intelligence operation. [Cue CAIR propaganda now.]
In The Guardian on May 23, 2013, Greenwald asked “Was the London killing of a British soldier ‘terrorism’?”
It’s true that the soldier who was killed yesterday [in London] was out of uniform and not engaged in combat at the time he was attacked. But the same is true for the vast bulk of killings carried out by the US and its allies over the last decade, where people are killed in their homes, in their cars, at work, while asleep…
Greenwald then transitions all-to-easily to a discussion of drone attacks by the United States…
The ongoing US drone attacks unquestionably have the effect, and one could reasonably argue the intent, of terrorizing the local populations so that they cease harboring or supporting those the west deems to be enemies. The brutal sanctions regime imposed by the west on Iraq and Iran, which kills large numbers of people, clearly has the intent of terrorizing the population into changing its governments’ policies and even the government itself. How can one create a definition of “terrorism” that includes Wednesday’s London attack on this British soldier without including many acts of violence undertaken by the US, the UK and its allies and partners? Id.
Greenwald has also written about that politically correct phrase which is supposed to suppress any discussion of Islamic Theology; “Islamaphobia”.
Islamophobia in the United States is pervasive and intense, and worse, is as ignored and tolerated as it is destructive. The greatest harm from these incidents is not to the property they damage. It’s the climate of fear that is created for Muslims living in the United States. As I’ve written about before, it’s hard to put into words how palpable and paralyzing this fear is in American Muslim communities. It’s infuriating to behold: perfectly law-abiding citizens and legal residents feeling — rationally and accurately — that they are subjected to constant surveillance, monitoring, suspicion, denial of basic rights, hostility and worse solely because of their religion and ethnicity. Zzzzzzzzz… huh… yawn! Is it Friday yet? Oh, yea, this Greenwald guy…
Indeed, it’s difficult even to fathom the depth of the cold-blooded savagery — the total disregard for all minimal concepts of humanity — needed for Terrorist monsters to bomb funerals. Al Qaeda has used this same tactic in Iraq… Really: what kind of Terrorist monsters are willing to bomb funerals of their victims in order to advance their aims? (Glenn Greenwald Unrestrained Savagery Salon.com 8/7/12)
Um… why is he not calling “Terrorist monsters” Jihadist monsters? Where is he going with this? Stay tuned…
This year, on a three-day weekend in late June, the U.S. launched a series of drone attacks in Pakistan — one on each day — and the second strike targeted mourners gathered to grieve those killed in the first strike (“At the time of the attack, suspected militants had gathered to offer condolences to the brother of a militant commander killed during another US unmanned drone attack on Saturday”). Id.
Did you catch that rhetorical sleight-of-hand? He called Jihadists who bomb Islamic funerals “Terrorist monsters” so he could easily equate American drone attacks with Islamic Jihad techniques.
Look friends, I’m not going to bore you with more of Greenwald’s writings (too late?). It is entirely fair for us to conclude that he exposed the NSA program to further his empathy for innocent Islamic Jihadists who merely want to kill infidels. Greenwald exposed the NSA program by fooling folks, right and left, into viewing Prism as another Obama scandal, not a Counter Jihad tool. A tip of my cowboy hat to Greenwald for uniting many, not all, conservatives and liberals against Obama with Islamist rhetorical trickery.
